Casey Vogler Walking Therapy Central Park

SOME PROBLEMS CAN'T BE SOLVED

SITTING DOWN.

Walking Therapy in Central Park.
For those who think better in motion.
Process trauma side-by-side, not face-to-face.

The "Clinical Stare"

Traditional therapy forces you to sit still and make sustained eye contact while discussing your deepest shame. For many men and high-functioning professionals, this static "fishbowl" environment feels confrontational and increases anxiety.

BREAK THE STARE

Side-by-Side Safety

Walking therapy removes the pressure of the "gaze." When we walk side-by-side, your guard comes down. The physical act of moving forward helps "unstick" rigid thought patterns, mimicking the bilateral stimulation used in trauma processing.

01

"What if we run into someone I know?"

This is New York; anonymity is our superpower. However, we discuss a "protocol" in our first session. If we see someone you know, we pause the clinical work. To the outside world, we are just two colleagues or friends catching up on a walk. You are never forced to explain who I am.

02

"What happens if it rains or snows?"

We are practical, not martyrs. If the weather is bad (heavy rain, extreme cold/heat), we simply pivot the session to Telehealth for that week. I will confirm with you the morning of our session so you aren't left guessing.

03

"Is this just a glorified expensive walk?"

No. This is clinical psychotherapy that utilizes kinetic processing. Movement lowers cortisol (stress hormone) and increases dopamine, allowing us to access traumatic memories or difficult topics that might remain "stuck" when you are sitting still in a chair.
